This months newsletter includes a snippet of our activities for the month of May. We have been very busy this month as always and had a trip to Heads of Ayr too.

The wonderful Rickshaw has been continuing through the month. We have definitely made the most of the good weather getting 4 people out on the Rickshaw every Friday.

We are very much enjoying our community link with Patchwork ELC. This month we attended their nursery every week to get involved with some exercise classes which were held by Mandy from Cowal Dance and Fitness. This was great to see the kids jumping around and we done what we could to get involved. After the exercises the children enjoy showing us their Book of the Week before we head home. Next Month we will be hosting Patchwork ELC at our home for some fun activities before they begin their summer break.

On the lead up to VE Day, Margaret got together some items from the past and we enjoyed a reminiscing activity.

On the 5th May, we had a Cinco De Mayo theme day with Margaritas, Churros and a game of Mexican themed Bingo.

Dunoon Primary have been continuing to visit us too. We enjoy having them and singing songs.

We attended the Memory Group at Dunoon Library and talked about memories from the 40's/50's. Both Betty and Liz enjoyed this and we look forward to attending next month.

Keeping on the topic of VE Day celebrations. Hugh had a great time attending the VE Day at the Argyll Gardens. He had a look around the market and seen some classic cars however, Hugh was even more impressed by the old tractor due to his family being in the farming line. He watched the pipe band, the highland dancers and then went to the rock for something to eat.

We enjoyed some baking this month too. We made Empire Biscuits and they were delicious with a cuppa at our 3 o'clock tea.

The mothers Group Buggy walk sessions joined us this month for cuddles and a book bug session.

Dougie and Marjory enjoyed getting out a walk to the Boat House for an Ice Cream.

Ian Chrissie and Mary enjoyed a trip out to Heads of Ayr Farm Park this month. They all enjoyed seeing the animals and having their lunch out at the cafe. On the way back we had a singsong and lots of laughs. A great day was had by all.

On 27th May we held our very own Ardnahein's Got Talent. Kath and Hugh were our judges and took on the role as Simon Cowell.

Hugh and Kath then had the hard decision for awarding everyone a prize.

We are now getting involved with the Burns Gym activities. The two men that do it are Glasgow based and they do chair exercises with us every Thursday over a Zoom call.

We had a great time playing the Nintendo Wii and having a shot of the VR headset. Wee games like this are great fun and is different to our normal.

On the 31st May, we had an outing to Sandbank Gala. It was a great day. We watched the dancing and had some lunch before heading home as the rain was starting. All the residents had nothing but positive things to say about their trip out.

What a busy month we have had with activities, trying new games and lots of outings. We enjoy getting involved in the community as much as possible so attending gala days and events that are on are what we love to do.
