3rd of May

Residents enjoyed a lovely Sunday service, with Hugh and Brian taking part in the readings. Later, Mhairi and Margaret spent time in the garden tending to the potato planters and enjoying the fresh air.

4th of May

Residents started the week with Monday morning PT, keeping active, moving, and having fun together.

5th of May

Residents enjoyed a busy day filled with fun activities, including bingo, a stroll in the fresh air, and a chocolate-filled piñata game. We were also delighted to welcome the young people from Patchwork Nursery, who joined residents for games of giant Connect 4 and Kerplunk.

6th of May

Eyes down bingo brought plenty of smiles to the room! 🎉

Our residents had a great time marking off their numbers, sharing laughs, and enjoying each other’s company. We had a few lucky winners who won prizes!!congratulations! 🏆

7th of May 

Residents enjoyed Thursday PT with some funky house music to keep everyone motivated and moving. The fun continued with the afternoon quiz, where congratulations went to Kath for winning a prize.

8th of May

Friday means Rickshaw Day at Ardnahein! Jessie and Gladys enjoyed a special trip out, making the most of the fresh air, lovely views, and a little extra attention.

A wonderful outing enjoyed by all. 😊🚲

9th of May

Residents enjoyed a fun-filled day with games of dominoes, lots of laughter using Snapchat filters, and a relaxing nail-painting session. Time was also spent outdoors enjoying the fresh air, tending to the garden, and admiring all the hard work that’s gone into it.

To top it all off, everyone enjoyed a delicious 99 ice cream in the sunshine. 🍦🌿💅

11th of May

Residents enjoyed Monday morning PT, followed by a friendly game of giant Connect 4 between Hugh and Brian.

12th of May

Residents enjoyed a busy and enjoyable day filled with activities and laughter. Brian and Freya started the day with games of Hangman and Pictionary, bringing plenty of smiles and friendly competition. Jessie and Hugh also enjoyed a wonderful visit to Patchwork Nursery, joining the children in a painting activity and spending quality time together.

The fun continued with an exciting game of bingo, where Brian was a three-time winner and kindly shared his chocolate prize with Hugh. To round off the day, Ruth enjoyed a trip to the nail bar for a little pampering before tea.

13th of May

Our team were looking great while providing the high standard of care and support that makes Ardnahein feel like home.

Thursday morning PT at the Ardnahein. Moving and grooving to the funky beats,keeping our residents sharp 💪💪

15th of May

Our ladies enjoyed raising a toast to the weekend ahead, sharing plenty of smiles and good company. Residents also wrapped up warm and made the most of the bright weather, heading out and about with Duncan and his rickshaw for some fresh air and lovely views.

16th of May

Residents enjoyed making the most of the fresh air, with time spent outdoors and a relaxing stroll before tea. The day also included our regular coffee afternoon, where residents enjoyed great company and some lovely visitors.

A wonderful day filled with conversation, friendship, and smiles. ☕🌿

17th of May

Sunday was filled with enjoyable activities, beginning with a lively game of bingo where Alvin and Anne were our lucky winners. Residents and visitors also took part in a closely contested quiz, followed by a relaxing coffee gathering and a nostalgic look through photographs of 1950s adverts, which sparked many happy memories and conversations.

We were delighted to have readings from Hugh and Brian during Sunday’s service, and later everyone enjoyed singing and dancing before dinner. A special highlight of the day was a visit from Donny the dog, who brought plenty of smiles and enjoyment to residents and visitors alike. 🐶❤️

18th of May

Residents enjoyed a busy day, starting with Monday morning PT, bringing plenty of movement, exercise, and smiles. The fun continued with a bean bag slingshot game, where everyone enjoyed seeing how far they could launch the bean bags.

Later, residents relaxed and enjoyed our regular music afternoon, filled with favourite songs, singing, and great company. ❤️😊

19th of May

Residents enjoyed a wonderful day filled with laughter and friendly competition. Hugh and Jessie faced off in a fun game of wheelchair Hungry Hippos, providing plenty of entertainment for everyone involved.

The fun continued with a visit from the children of Patchwork Nursery ELC, where everyone worked together to make delicious homemade berry lemonade from scratch. It was a refreshing treat and a lovely activity enjoyed by all. 😊🎉

20th of May

Residents enjoyed a fun-filled day with a lively game of Number Race and a fantastic bingo session. There was plenty of friendly competition, laughter, and excitement throughout, with some lucky winners even taking home chocolate prizes!

A wonderful time was had by all. 😊🍫

21st of May

Residents enjoyed a busy and enjoyable day, starting with noodle PT to keep active, followed by a relaxing pamper session and a fun quiz, with congratulations going to our quiz winners.

We also celebrated Ian Newland’s birthday and hope he enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea with his daughters.  Happy Birthday Ian from all at Ardnahein 🎂🎉

A special congratulations goes to Lorraine, Stephen, and Marc-Anthony, who were recognised for completing their Ardnahein Accolade Cards. Their dedication, kindness, teamwork, and commitment to supporting residents, families, and colleagues help make Ardnahein a warm and welcoming home for all.

Residents enjoyed a varied day, with Hugh taking a stroll along the seafront and others enjoying a game of giant Connect 4 in the lounge.

A special highlight was seeing Jessie all dressed up for a family wedding. She looked wonderful, and we hope she had a lovely time celebrating with her family. 💐💖

23rd of May

Residents enjoyed a fun and challenging game of Slingshot, followed by a lovely coffee afternoon filled with great company and conversation. We also celebrated Brian’s birthday, with family joining him for the special occasion.

The day was made even more enjoyable with wonderful entertainment from Kiera from Dunoon Grammar School and David from Kirn Primary School, who delighted everyone with their performances.

Residents enjoyed a lovely stroll outdoors, making the most of the fresh air, gentle exercise, and good company. The fun continued with a lively game of bingo, bringing plenty of smiles, laughter, and friendly competition.

Residents and staff made the most of the wonderful Bank Holiday weather, spending time outdoors enjoying the sunshine, fresh air, and great company.

Residents made the most of the warm weather by enjoying lunch outdoors while listening to music, creating a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. Jessie and Ruth also enjoyed a visit to Patchwork Nursery ELC, where they spent time making colourful posters together, while Jessie and Mary treated themselves to a lovely pamper session with their nails done.

27th of May

Residents made the most of the beautiful weather with garden games, plenty of laughter, and some friendly competition. The celebrations continued with a lovely barbecue, where everyone enjoyed delicious food, refreshments, and great company in the sunshine.

To round off the day, some residents enjoyed a relaxing stroll outdoors before heading back inside. A wonderful day filled with smiles, fresh air, and enjoyable moments shared together. 😊🌿

28th of May

Residents started the day with an exercise session, helping everyone feel energised and ready for the day ahead.

Later, everyone enjoyed a relaxing time in the garden, making the most of the sunshine with delicious homemade iced coffees. A special highlight was seeing Lillian receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers, which brightened her day and brought smiles all around. 💐❤️

29th of May

Residents celebrated National Biscuit Day by making homemade American honey and buttermilk biscuits. These were enjoyed alongside fried chicken and American gravy, creating a delicious meal that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. 🍪

Residents enjoyed a lively discussion about their favourite biscuits, debating everything from custard creams and bourbons to shortbread and chocolate digestives. Everyone had their own favourites and plenty of opinions to share! 🫯

Residents enjoyed catching up with the latest headlines and discussing current events while reading the daily newspaper together. 📰

30th of May

Residents enjoyed watching Scotland secure a fantastic victory over Curaçao, creating plenty of excitement as everyone cheered on the national team.

Our regular coffee afternoon was also enjoyed by residents and visitors, providing a lovely opportunity to relax, socialise, and enjoy good company over a cup of coffee. 😊

Barbara and Jessie enjoyed a trip to the Queen’s Hall to watch Made in Dagenham performed by the Cowal Choral Club.

The show was thoroughly enjoyed and made for a wonderful outing. 😊

Our coffee afternoon was enjoyed by residents, families, and friends, who came together for great company, conversation, and refreshments.

ARDNAHEINS CHEFS TABLE

Our chefs have once again treated residents to a wonderful variety of delicious home-cooked meals throughout May. One of the highlights was our fantastic BBQ, where everyone enjoyed great food, sunshine, and good company.

It was also lovely to see Margaret lending a hand and getting involved, helping to make mealtimes enjoyable for everyone.
