May was a wonderful month filled with fun, friendship, and special moments at Ardnahein.πΌ
We celebrated the birthdays of Ian and Brian, enjoyed plenty of exciting bingo games with lucky winners, and made the most of the warmer weather with relaxing garden days and strolls in the fresh air. Our regular coffee afternoons continued to bring residents, families, and friends together for good conversation and delicious treats.
Residents also enjoyed outings on the rickshaw, taking in the local scenery and fresh air, while pamper sessions helped everyone feel relaxed and looking their best. We were delighted to welcome the children from Patchwork Nursery for more intergenerational activities, creating smiles, laughter, and wonderful memories for everyone involved.
Thank you to everyone who helped make May such a happy and enjoyable month. We look forward to making even more special memories together in June! π

Residents enjoyed a lovely Sunday service, with Hugh and Brian taking part in the readings. Later, Mhairi and Margaret spent time in the garden tending to the potato planters and enjoying the fresh air.

Residents enjoyed a busy day filled with fun activities, including bingo, a stroll in the fresh air, and a chocolate-filled piñata game. We were also delighted to welcome the young people from Patchwork Nursery, who joined residents for games of giant Connect 4 and Kerplunk.

Friday means Rickshaw Day at Ardnahein! Jessie and Gladys enjoyed a special trip out, making the most of the fresh air, lovely views, and a little extra attention.

Residents enjoyed a fun-filled day with games of dominoes, lots of laughter using Snapchat filters, and a relaxing nail-painting session. Time was also spent outdoors enjoying the fresh air, tending to the garden, and admiring all the hard work that’s gone into it.
To top it all off, everyone enjoyed a delicious 99 ice cream in the sunshine. π¦πΏπ

Residents enjoyed a busy and enjoyable day filled with activities and laughter. Brian and Freya started the day with games of Hangman and Pictionary, bringing plenty of smiles and friendly competition. Jessie and Hugh also enjoyed a wonderful visit to Patchwork Nursery, joining the children in a painting activity and spending quality time together.
The fun continued with an exciting game of bingo, where Brian was a three-time winner and kindly shared his chocolate prize with Hugh. To round off the day, Ruth enjoyed a trip to the nail bar for a little pampering before tea.

Sunday was filled with enjoyable activities, beginning with a lively game of bingo where Alvin and Anne were our lucky winners. Residents and visitors also took part in a closely contested quiz, followed by a relaxing coffee gathering and a nostalgic look through photographs of 1950s adverts, which sparked many happy memories and conversations.
We were delighted to have readings from Hugh and Brian during Sunday’s service, and later everyone enjoyed singing and dancing before dinner. A special highlight of the day was a visit from Donny the dog, who brought plenty of smiles and enjoyment to residents and visitors alike. πΆβ€οΈ
18th of May
Residents enjoyed a busy day, starting with Monday morning PT, bringing plenty of movement, exercise, and smiles. The fun continued with a bean bag slingshot game, where everyone enjoyed seeing how far they could launch the bean bags.
Later, residents relaxed and enjoyed our regular music afternoon, filled with favourite songs, singing, and great company. β€οΈπ

Residents enjoyed a wonderful day filled with laughter and friendly competition. Hugh and Jessie faced off in a fun game of wheelchair Hungry Hippos, providing plenty of entertainment for everyone involved.
The fun continued with a visit from the children of Patchwork Nursery ELC, where everyone worked together to make delicious homemade berry lemonade from scratch. It was a refreshing treat and a lovely activity enjoyed by all. ππ

The day was made even more enjoyable with wonderful entertainment from Kiera from Dunoon Grammar School and David from Kirn Primary School, who delighted everyone with their performances.

Residents celebrated National Biscuit Day by making homemade American honey and buttermilk biscuits. These were enjoyed alongside fried chicken and American gravy, creating a delicious meal that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. πͺ
Residents enjoyed a lively discussion about their favourite biscuits, debating everything from custard creams and bourbons to shortbread and chocolate digestives. Everyone had their own favourites and plenty of opinions to share! π«―
Residents enjoyed catching up with the latest headlines and discussing current events while reading the daily newspaper together. π°

Residents enjoyed watching Scotland secure a fantastic victory over Curaçao, creating plenty of excitement as everyone cheered on the national team.
Our regular coffee afternoon was also enjoyed by residents and visitors, providing a lovely opportunity to relax, socialise, and enjoy good company over a cup of coffee. π
Barbara and Jessie enjoyed a trip to the Queen’s Hall to watch Made in Dagenham performed by the Cowal Choral Club.
The show was thoroughly enjoyed and made for a wonderful outing. π

Our chefs have once again treated residents to a wonderful variety of delicious home-cooked meals throughout May. One of the highlights was our fantastic BBQ, where everyone enjoyed great food, sunshine, and good company.
It was also lovely to see Margaret lending a hand and getting involved, helping to make mealtimes enjoyable for everyone.
